Wedding season is among us and although I’m not getting married I love to celebrate love. I know they are many girls who dream about their wedding day. I’m not one of those girls, but I am obsessed with wedding dresses. I binge watch Say Yes To the Dress and I’m not afraid to admit. I know I’m not the only one who is in awe when seeing those Pnini Tornai dresses on the show and has thought “Wow, I would kill to wear that on my wedding day.” In honour of wedding season, I gathered my favourite wedding dresses featured on movies and TV shows.
Brace yourself

Favorite Wedding Dresses 1) Liv’s Dress

Who could forget Kate Hudson rocking this gorgeous Vera Wang dress as Liv Lerner in the romantic comedy Bride Wars. Despite the heated competition she was having with her best friend Emma on whose wedding is going to be better, she did not let that stop her from having her special day. The purple belt was the icing on the cake in making her dress truly unique to her personality.
2) Both of Blair Waldorf’s Wedding Dresses

How could I not mention Blair Waldorf’s stunning wedding dresses on CW’s Gossip Girl? She is my favourite runaway bride. Her first dress truly made her look like a princess for her royal wedding the Prince of Monaco. Of course, you can thank the queen of bridal gowns Vera Wang for that. The dress was beautiful but she just wasn’t with the right guy.

We all know that Chuck was Blair’s true soulmate. When they finally got married she looked even prettier than she did at her first wedding. Her second dress was made from one of my favourite designers Ellie Saab. It was conservative yet classy.
3) Lorelei Gilmore’s Dress

I was so frustrated when watching Gilmore Girls because Luke took forever to finally confess his feelings for Lorelei. What’s even more frustrating is that the show got cancelled before we got the chance to see her actually get married. Fortunately, we did get to see her in the wedding dress she wanted to wear. The dress was perfect for her. It was a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown with a sweetheart neckline and floral detailing.
4) Mia Thermopolis’s Dress

The Princess Diaries, Mia Thermopolis is one of my favourite characters of all time. If anybody could rule a country it would be Mia. Even though she didn’t actually end up getting married because she just wasn’t with the right guy, she didn’t let that stop her from becoming the queen. Her dress, of course, was remarkable as it was designed by costume designer Gary Jones. The lace detailing and her long veil made the dress fit for a queen.
5) Robin Scherbatsky’s Dress

I loved Robin and Barney together and I’m happy that we got to see their wedding. She had a mermaid style wedding gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. It hugged her figure in all the right places. She was the epitome of a blushing bride.
7) Jamie Sullivan’s Dress

Every single time I think of A Walk To Remember, my heart melts. It’s such a beautiful story. Landon couldn’t have been more of a perfect guy for Jamie. He knew exactly what she wanted and made her dreams come true; to get married in her mother’s church. The lace veil and dress portrayed the simple and happy life she would have wanted with Landon.
8) Elle Woods Pink Dress

Elle Woods wore a pink gown to her wedding in Legally Blonde and of course, we wouldn’t expect anything else. It really wouldn’t have been Elle’s wedding if her dress was white. I’m so happy Elle rejected Warner when he asked for her back. Instead, she became a lawyer and married to her true soul mate Emmett.
9) Rachel Zane’s Dress

Remember seeing Rachel’s gown right before Mike went to jail on Suits and thinking it looked stunning? Well, she wore the same dress at their official wedding but with a few alterations. The dress is by designer Anna Barge and has beautiful beading and a black ribbon belt that hugs her waist just right. It was perfect for her fairytale wedding to the man she loves.
Finally, Favorite Wedding Dresses 10) Jane Villanueva’s Dress

After being in the middle of a love triangle between her baby daddy Rafael Solano and her long term boyfriend Michael Cordero. Jane finally makes the decision that her heart belongs to Michael. With the help of her father, she has a wedding she couldn’t dream of. Her dress looked flattering on her figure and suited her personality. She looked innocent and pure. The lace detailing made the gown look elegant.
And that’s it for my list, I know they are so many more but there are some of my favourite bridal dresses I’ve seen on TV and movies. I think one of the reasons why girls dream about their wedding day is because of their wedding dress. They are probably many girls who already know exactly what type of wedding dress they see themselves twirling in. Don’t forget no one said we had to be getting married to try on wedding dresses.
