What is it?
The Tarte Shape Tape concealer was released near the end of 2016 and since then it has become one of the most talked about concealers. Of course with all the amazing reviews I wanted to try it, but unfortunately, the concealer is not available to purchase in Canada. Tarte Shape is exclusively sold at Ulta, a cosmetics store in the United States. However, you can purchase it from the Tarte cosmetics website. I stopped by Ulta while I was in New York and bought one for myself. It is supposed to be a full coverage concealer that gives you a matte finish. The concealer claims to be easy to blend, covers blemishes, and is supposed to brighten and illuminate the skin. It’s not supposed to flake or leave creases. It comes in 30 shades so you have plenty of options to choose from. It sounds pretty amazing, so I put it to the test.
I’ve been using this concealer for a couple of months now I do like it a lot. I get lots of compliments whenever I am wearing this concealer. The packaging is very pretty, I like the purple and gold lid as well as the big doe foot applicator it comes with. This concealer has a thick consistency so a little goes a long way. It blends in beautifully and covers darkness and redness really well. It lasts all day long on the skin and gives all the coverage you need.
Even after blending the concealer in and powdering on top it’s still creasing on me, throughout the day. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. The creases are not too harsh looking but it’s still noticeable. Overall, I do think it’s a little pricey, but if you like that full coverage look and have a lot of darkness underneath your eyes than I would recommend this product. If you’re somebody who likes a concealer with a more dewier finish than you might not like the Tarte Shape Tape as much. If you guys have any tips on how to prevent creating with this concealer please let me know. I don’t love it enough to purchase it.
