I have really dry, thick, long hair. My hair is damaged from dying it over the years. I have everything, from breakage to split ends. I’ve always enjoyed doing my makeup but I have always dreaded doing my hair. Back in high school, I used to straighten my hair every day because it was the only way I thought my hair looked decent. I didn’t think about the repercussions of using heat on my hair every day I just wanted my hair to look good. Although I don’t use heat in my hair as often anymore the damage has already been done. I was not aware of how damaged my hair looked until people started telling me that my hair needed some serious love. I remember looking in the mirror and thinking, yikes! My hair looked like hay. I started putting my hair up in a ponytail so people wouldn’t pay attention to how my hair looked. I was in desperate need for a miracle.
I needed a complete hair transformation and the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask did just that. I heard about this product, from beauty vloggers Tati Westbrook and Kathleen Lights. Tati says this product is magical and Kathleen has said this is her, “favourite hair mask ever.”
It won the 2018 Allure Reader’s Choice Award for Best Conditioner and now I know why. This product is meant for dry, damaged, and chemically treated hair so I’m basically the perfect person for this product. It claims that it will make your hair feel hydrated, look vibrant, and replenish your damaged hair. After using this product for over six months now my hair feels so much softer and luscious looking. My hair finally feels hydrated and healthy again. I usually use it once every week an apply it on my ends and let it sit in my hair for 10-15 minutes while I’m relaxing in the bath. I have less dead ends and breakage. People even started noticing the difference in my hair.
What’s even better is that the majority of this conditioner is made with natural ingredients. This product is not made with any harsh sulfates, phthalates, parabens, silicones, DEA, or artificial dyes. Instead, this conditioner is rich in oils and b-vitamins. It’s always great to have some kind of oil in your hair products because oil can help moisturize your hair, make it feel soft, and keep it shiny. B-vitamins provide nutrients and biotin helps with hair growth. I personally don’t love the smell but it’s not terrible. I’m happy that this product is sulfate free because sulfate can strip the natural oils as well as the colour from your hair.
The 237 mL bottle is $46.00 CAD at Sephora, it is definitely pricey but it’s worth every penny. I would even pay more for this product if I had to. If you are hesitant about trying new products on your hair then you can always try the mini size just to see how you like it. It’s always nice to buy from a brand that is cruelty-free and vegan. I never thought I could fall in love with a conditioner, but I guess there really is a first time for everything.
