What it is:
I’ve been using the Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Clay cleanser and mask for a couple of months now and I’m liking it. Australian beauty vlogger Nikkia Joy raved about this product and has called it brilliant. The cleanser/mask claims to clean out any oil, dirt, or makeup you have left on your skin and keep it feeling moisturized.
Purifying Clay Cleanser and Mask Review Pros:
What’s great about this cleanser is that it’s oil-free and non-comedogenic. Nobody wants clogged pores. Before I cleanse I usually take off my makeup with micellar water and then I’ll wash my face with a cleanser. It does a good job of taking off that little bit of makeup that I might have missed. I’ve been using this cleanser every morning and night and leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh, and smooth. The product leaves a nice cooling sensation after you rinse it off and doesn’t dry your skin out. It smells like mint with a hint of cucumber, it almost has that Tiffany blue colour. After I cleanse I always put on a moisturizer.
According to Elle Australia, two ingredients you should look out for in clay masks are kaolin and bentonite, and this cleanser has both. Clay is good for the skin because it can help minimize the appearance of pores and reduce access shine by drawing out any oil or impurities in the skin. I’ve always really liked the way clay makes my skin feel and this cleanser does help make my pores appear smaller.
Cons:
I don’t like using this product as a mask. It just doesn’t do enough for me, I prefer using my other masks over this. I’ve read lots of reviews and some people say they like using this product as a mask over a cleanser. I think it really depends on your skin type and what your skin needs.
