Welcome back to The Blush Diaries — where the motto is simple: the more blush, the better! This is the second edition of the series, and today we’re diving into one of the most buzzed-about beauty launches of 2024: Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Pocket Blush. Is it worth the hype? I put it to the test so you don’t have to. Keep reading for my honest thoughts, swatches, and whether or not this blush deserves a permanent spot in your makeup bag.
How It Wears:
These blushes have a creamy formula that blends effortlessly and looks flattering on the cheeks. They have good colour payoff and feel lightweight on the skin. I tried the shade Piggy, which is a baby pink shade, and I am obsessed with how the colour looks like on my skin.
Who Would Like This Product?
If you’re somebody who likes Hailey Bieber’s clean girl makeup aesthetic, then you will like this product. She’s known for always using low-coverage makeup products (because why would you need it when you have skin like hers) and using lots of cream products to enhance her natural features. But even if you’re just a certified blush addict who loves a good monochromatic moment—using the same shade on your cheeks, eyes, and lips like Hailey does, this one’s got your name on it too. Plus, Rhode recently dropped some gorgeous new shades designed to complement deeper skin tones, and they’re seriously stunning.
She’s made the product with the intention of it being something you throw in your bag and use throughout out the day, but the packaging is too bulky. If you’re somebody who’s always carrying a tote bag or several bags then of course the product will fit but it will either take too much space in a small bag or it simply won’t fit.
If you want a similar product that won’t take up space in your handbag I would suggest the The Kylie Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Glow Balm. They blend like a dream and give the cheeks a pretty flush of colour. Hailey herself has used it before in her tutorials.
Is It Worth The Money?
Currently a cream or liquid blush approximately costs between $30 to $35. The Rhode pocket blushes are $39, whereas the Kylie Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Glow Balms are $32, however the Rhode Pocket Blushes offer slightly more product.
I very much enjoyed using the Rhode pocket blushes but the Huda Beauty Blush Filters still have my heart.
