Blair Waldorf’s Vanity: Makeup Essentials She’d Swear By Then and Now

The fashion and beauty on Gossip Girl? Absolutely unmatched. Blair Waldorf’s style was inspired by Audrey Hepburn and showcased old Hollywood glamour energy, and honestly, no one wore a headband like her. Being the daughter of a fashion designer, she was impeccably dressed, let’s be real—her obsession with looking perfect had just as much to do with her insecurities and complicated relationship with her mom. Makeup-wise, thanks to head artist Amy Tagliamonti, Blair always looked polished: full-coverage foundation to cover any blemishes, glossy lips, and eyeliner that could go from a sharp cat-eye to a smoky smudge depending on the scene. Inspired by her makeup looks, I’ve rounded up the beauty products I think Blair would have used in the Gossip Girl days (2007 – 2012) —and the new products she’d be stocking on her vanity if the show were airing today.

Complexion Products 2007- 2012 Edition

Blair’s makeup leaned matte and full-coverage, which made sense for the time—ultra-glowy skin just wasn’t the trend yet. Plus, full coverage would have helped her conceal any breakouts and maintain that flawless, picture-perfect look she was known for. Of course, money was never an issue for Blair—and with far fewer makeup brands on the market back then, it only makes sense that she would have gone straight to the luxury beauty counters for her products.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place 24-Hour Longwear Foundation

Launched in 1997, Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation is a fan favourite. With its full coverage and natural matte finish, and how it keeps shine under control, it’s perfect for Blair. It’s the kind of foundation that stays flawless from breakfast at The Met steps to late-night galas—long-wearing, polished, and perfectly put-together, just like Blair.

Laura Merceir Secret Camouflage Concealer Palette

Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage Concealer Palette was released in 2001 and is known for being pigmented and full-coverage. It’s perfect for disguising spots, redness, or any discolouration—exactly the kind of touch-up Blair Waldorf would rely on to keep her complexion flawless.

Blair Waldorf makeup

Guerlain Meteorites Setting & Finishing Pearls of Powder

First launched in 1987, Guerlain’s Météorites Setting & Finishing Pearls of Powder helps blur, even out the complexion, and add a soft, luminous glow to the skin.

Blair Waldorf makeup

Chanel Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream

Originally launched in 2009 as Soleil Tan de Chanel, this bronzer quickly became popular—and for good reason. Renamed in 2020 as Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream, it’s super creamy and buildable, melting effortlessly into the skin to deliver a natural, sun-kissed glow.

Blair Waldorf makeup

Lancôme Blush Subtil

Blair always had a nice flush of colour on her cheeks, and I can totally see Lancôme’s Powder Blush being her go-to. Its ultra-fine texture melts seamlessly into the skin and gives the skin a soft glow.

Complexion Products Present Edition

Of course, if Blair were living in the present day, her makeup style would have evolved. I imagine she’d embrace the “no-makeup makeup” look for her everyday routine, while still relying on full coverage glam for the fancy events that fill her calendar. And being the influential woman she is, she’d probably have her makeup done by celebrity artists who would recommend her good-quality products. Naturally, money would never be an issue—so here are the products I think she’d be adding to her collection today.

Blair Waldorf makeup

Guerlain L’Or 24K Gold Radiance Primer

Obviously, Blair would reach for a product infused with gold. Guerlain’s gel primer is hydrating, gives the skin a nice glow, and creates just the right amount of tackiness so makeup grips beautifully and stays put all day.

Blair Waldorf makeup

Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint

Blair would definitely trust a product created by a makeup artist. For her everyday routine—when she doesn’t need full coverage—I can see her reaching for Lisa Eldridge’s Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint. Made with skincare ingredients, it gives a skin-like finish while evening out the complexion beautifully.

Blair Waldorf makeup

Charlotte Tilbury Jumbo Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

Being Blair Waldorf, she’s probably had her makeup done by Charlotte Tilbury at least once. The brand’s Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray would easily be one of her staples—it not only feels refreshing and hydrating but also helps lock in makeup while seamlessly blending and softening everything together.

Dior Forever Skin Glow Hydrating Foundation

The Dior Forever Skin Glow Hydrating Foundation delivers exactly what its name promises. The formula gives skin a luminous, healthy finish and wears beautifully throughout the day. That said, if you have oily skin, this might not be your top pick, as its dewy finish can enhance shine. But for normal to dry skin types, it’s a dream—radiant and lightweight.

Blair Waldorf makeup

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Refillable Blurring & Setting Powder

Blair would only use the best, and this powder definitely makes the cut. It’s ultra-lightweight, sets makeup beautifully, and leaves the skin looking smooth without ever feeling cakey. The formula has a blurring effect that gives that polished, picture-perfect finish Blair is known for.

Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer

Hailey Bieber loves this concealer, and honestly, so do most beauty lovers. It’s full-coverage and brightens your complexion, and is long-lasting.

Westman Atelier Face Trace Cream Contour Stick

Created by celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman, the Westman Atelier contour sticks are a favourite among pros—including Hailey Bieber’s makeup artist Mary Phillips. The formula is creamy, blendable, and delivers a soft, natural-looking contour—exactly the kind of subtle definition Blair Waldorf would love.

Westman Atelier Lit Up Glassy Gel Highlighter Stick

Blair would definitely be into the Westman Atelier Highlighter Stick. It’s not your average highlighter—it gives more of a natural, healthy glow than a shimmer finish. It adds that dewy, bouncy sheen—super subtle, super chic, and very Blair.

Eye Products 2007- 2012 Edition

In a 2009 interview with Allure, head makeup artist Amy Tagliamonti spilled some of the go-to products she used on Gossip Girl. And honestly, I can completely see Blair being obsessed with a few of them, too. For her, a good liquid and pencil eyeliner was non-negotiable, plus shadows she could use to smoke out her liner—and every now and then, a little shimmer on the lids. Fun fact: back then, eyeshadow palettes weren’t really a thing yet—single shadows were popular until about 2010.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

Blair was all about a classic cat-eye, so a rich, pigmented liquid liner with an easy-to-use applicator would be a must for her. That’s why I think she’d reach for this one from Stila—it’s precise, making it perfect for nailing that signature Blair wing.

Lancôme Hypnôse Volumizing Mascara

Tagliamonti used the Lancôme L’Extrême Lengthening Mascara on set, but that’s not sold anymore. Their Hypnôse mascara came out in 2004, and I could see Blair using this to give her lashes volume.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Ultra-Slim Precision Eyebrow Pencil

Blair’s eyebrows always looked full and defined, but never overdone like those Sharpie brows we would see on Instagram. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz is ideal for filling in sparse areas and creating soft, hair-like strokes.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Spices

Tagliamonti shared that she used Chanel’s eye shadow quads in Spices and Dunes on Blake Lively. “They’re both a mix of golds and warm, natural shades. They’re great for the daytime looks on the show because they add a little depth without looking over the top,” she told Allure. I can totally see Blair loving these palettes too, especially since big eye shadow palettes weren’t really a thing back then, and she never went for bold, colourful eye looks anyway.

NARS Quad Eyeshadow

You can never go wrong with NARS makeup products, and I think Blair would’ve known that. Their quads are perfect for travel; they’re buttery soft and blend like a dream.

Eye Products Present Edition

For her present-day eye makeup, I think Blair would stick to her signature eyeliner, keep her brows perfectly groomed as always, maybe embrace thicker eyebrows, and definitely add a few mini palettes to her collection.

Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen Liquid Eyeliner Duo

The Tom Ford Liquid Eyeliner is one of the best on the market. It’s super black and dual-ended, one side features a brush applicator, while the other has a calligraphy-style pen for precise, defined lines.

Armani Beauty Vertigo Lift Longwear Lengthening Mascara

If you’re after longer lashes, this mascara seriously delivers. It lengthens without clumping, stays smudge-proof all day, and the wand does an amazing job with separating each lash. `

Benefit Mighty Fine Waterproof Brow Pen

We all know that Blair eventually becomes a mom, and what better product to fill in your eyebrows while you’re busy than the Benefit Brow pen. The triple-tip brow pen makes it super easy to fill in the sparse areas of your eyebrows.

Charlotte’s Palette of Beautifying Eye Trends

Charlotte Tilbury’s eye shadow formula is stunning. The shadows are velvety soft, blend easily, and the shimmers give you such a nice iridescent glow.

Dior BACKSTAGE Eyeshadow Palette

These mini Dior eye shadow palettes come with more shade options than the NARS quad eye shadow palettes. The Dior shadows have great colour payoff and blend like a dream.

Lip Products 2007- 2012 edition

Blair and Serena both loved a glossy finish. Blair sometimes wore bold lipstick shades so these are the lippies I think she would have in her collection.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss

Gloss girls always have lipgloss on them, no matter where they are going. These lip glosses aren’t sticky and have a nice shimmer.

MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil

A lip liner is a must if you want your lipstick to look good. With their colour payoff and staying power, these lip liners do just that.

Lancôme Juicy Tubes Original Lip Gloss

The Lancôme Juicy Tubes were a major hit in the 2000s before being discontinued in 2018. Luckily, Lancôme brought them back in 2020—something I’m sure Blair and Serena would’ve been thrilled about.

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour

Of course, Blair would own Chanel lipstick, just like she’d obviously have Chanel bags. The formula is everything you’d expect: packed with ultra-fine pigments, plus Vitamin E. It’s also infused with coconut and castor oils to keep the lips smooth and hydrated.

Guerlain Rouge G Customizable Satin & Velvet Matte Lipstick

Guerlain’s lipsticks are as beautiful to look at as they are to wear; they’re basically an accessory on their own. Each one comes in a chic double-mirrored case, and the formula includes hydrating ingredients that keep your lips smooth while delivering rich, vibrant colour payoff.

Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Cream Lipstick

I’m sure Blair must have seen her mom use Lancôme lipstick while she was younger, so it only makes sense that she also has some. They’re creamy, pigmented and have a pretty satin finish.

Lip Products Present Edition

Let’s be real—there’s no such thing as too much lipstick or lip gloss! With all these new makeup brands come even more lip options for Blair to choose from. Here are the lip products I think Blair would add to her collection.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Satin Shine Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks have an amazing creamy formula that feels comfortable and makes the lips look soft. I can totally see Blair having a few shades in her collection.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner

These creamy lip liners glide on like a dream and are a must-have.

Dior Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick

These Dior lipsticks come in both matte and satin finishes, but I just know Blair would be all about the satin. The shades are gorgeous—bold, elegant, and super flattering, and the formula feels so luxurious on the lips. Plus, it actually lasts, which is always a win.

Armani Beauty Prisma Glass Hydrating Lip Gloss with Squalane

These Armani lip glosses are honestly some of the best out there. They’re super moisturizing and make your lips look incredibly shiny and plump without feeling sticky.

Tatcha The Kissu Hydrating & Plumping Lip Mask

I definitely see the Tatcha Plumping Lip Mask as a part of Blair’s skincare routine. Not only does it have nice packaging, but it does an amazing job at keeping your lips hydrated and soft.

Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Lip Balm

When Sofia Richie was spotted wearing the Hourglass Glossy Lip Balms, they instantly went viral—and for good reason. They make your lips look so juicy and plump, you’ll honestly catch yourself wanting to do the duck face just to show them off.
