Is Huda Beauty’s Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder Worth The Hype?

After seeing countless makeup artists and makeup bloggers rave about Huda Beauty’s Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder, I knew I had to try it for myself. Back in the height of the pink-powder craze in 2023, the Cherry Blossom shade was everywhere—on TikTok, in makeup bags, makeup artist kits, you name it. After using both the original formula and the newly updated version for over a year, I finally have thoughts.

How It Wears in the Original Formula:

It truly is a fantastic powder, and this is coming from someone who does not like wearing a lot of powder. I haven’t even felt tempted to reach for anything else since I started using this. I’m not a “baker,” but if you do like baking, this is the powder to use. It’s finely milled, lightweight, and leaves the skin with that airbrushed, soft-focus blur everyone loves. It smooths without looking cakey, and applies beautifully with a powder puff. Cherry Blossom, of course, brightens exactly the way you’d hope.

How the New Formula Performs

One of the biggest complaints about the original Easy Bake was the fragrance (and I agree—it was overwhelming). In 2024, the brand officially removed fragrance from the loose powders. Using it with no scent is so refreshing. Some say the updated formula is different, but in my experience, the formula is the same, as it should be, considering it is amazing.

Updated Packaging Review

Huda Beauty also announced a major rebrand in July of 2024 with a new lowercase logo and revamped packaging, and the Easy Bake Loose Powder was the first product to debut it. The packaging, while still a bit bulky, is much better. It now has rounded corners and features a smart, travel-friendly, removable inner lid that doubles as a portable mini-container. You can fill it with powder for on-the-go touch-ups while leaving the rest sealed in the main jar. It also includes a hidden compartment with a compact sponge. The best thing about the new packaging is that you can now remove the mesh if you want to depot it or dip your powder puff in it.

Who Would Like This Product?

Honestly, I think this powder works well for all skin types. Even my friends who have more texture on their skin swear by it. It doesn’t emphasize unevenness, dryness, or pores—it actually helps disguise them.

Is It Worth The Money?

YES. I’d happily pay the $52 again. You get 0.71 oz of product, which is a lot, and if you’re only using it on yourself, this powder will last you a long time.
