A good concealer has to strike a delicate balance between coverage and actually looking good on the skin. We want brightness and a smooth finish, but we also don’t want it settling into every little line under our eyes. In 2023, Tower 28 entered the category with its Swipe Serum Concealer, a formula designed to combine medium, buildable coverage with a more skincare-focused approach.
As a freelance beauty editor, I get to test out a lot of makeup, and concealer is one category where I’m always paying attention to the details—from the coverage and texture to how it actually wears throughout the day. So, I put the Tower 28 Swipe Serum Concealer to the test to see what the formula is like, who it might work best for and whether it’s worth the $34 price tag.
How It Wears:
What I love about the Tower 28 Swipe Serum Concealer is how hydrating it is. I have a medium skin tone with neutral undertones, and I use the shade K-Town. It has a really creamy texture that feels comfortable and looks smooth on the skin, while still giving you a solid medium amount of coverage. I find it brightens the under-eye area nicely without looking heavy, which makes it especially great for dry or mature skin.
The formula contains skincare-focused ingredients like hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica leaf extract and lysine. One tip I’ve found helpful is to apply the concealer and let it sit for a minute or two before blending it out. This gives it a little time to set and helps you get more coverage without having to use as much product. The wear time is good too, especially for such a creamy formula.
Who Would Like This Concealer?
If you have dry or sensitive skin and prefer a more hydrating concealer, I think you’ll really like this one. Tower 28’s concealer is non-comedogenic, and the brand formulates its products with sensitive skin in mind. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin, so it’s difficult for me to fully test that claim, but I do have sensitive, dry under-eyes, and my skin has responded really well to this formula. It feels comfortable and hydrating without making my under-eyes look or feel dry. I also think it’s a great option for mature under-eyes, especially if you find that drier concealers tend to emphasize fine lines or texture.
Is It Worth the Money?
At $34, I do think that Tower 28’s Concealer is worth the money. I really enjoy the formula, and out of the Tower 28 makeup products I’ve tried, I actually think this is their best one. It’s creamy, gives you a good amount of coverage and wears well without making my under-eyes feel dry. If you prefer a hydrating concealer with a natural, smooth finish, I think this one is worth trying.
