If you’ve spent any time on BeautyTok, you’ve probably come across the Dior Rosy Glow Powder Blush. It’s one of those products that seems to have been around forever, yet somehow always finds its way back into the spotlight. First launched in 2012, many were eager to try it and had lots of feedback on the formula. Since then, Dior has reformulated it more than once.
Naturally, I had to see what all the fuss was about. I tested both the original and the newest formula to find out if the updates actually made a difference in the finish. As a freelance beauty editor, I get to test a lot of makeup launches, so I was especially curious to see whether this luxury blush is truly worth the splurge.
How the Original Formula Compares to the New Formula
I had the chance to try both the original Dior Rosy Glow Powder Blush, which first launched in 2012, and the newest version, so I was curious to see how much had actually changed.
The blush line got its first major update in Spring 2023, when Dior reformulated it under the brand’s clean-conscious beauty standards and redesigned the packaging. The compact changed from a rectangular shape to a square shape and featured Dior’s updated logo on the front. Then, in mid-2025, Dior tweaked the powder formula again.

In terms of performance, I noticed a much bigger difference than I expected. The original formula contained talc and felt noticeably drier in the pan. It also had very little colour payoff—I had to swirl my brush into the blush several times and build it up on my cheeks before the colour became visible.
The new formula is much more pigmented from the first application. It picks up on the brush more easily, delivers colour with less effort, and doesn’t need nearly as much layering to achieve a healthy flush. The finish looks more luminous, giving the cheeks a subtle glow rather than the flatter, more matte look of the original.

Both versions feature Dior‘s pH-activating technology, which is supposed to create a custom shade based on your skin’s pH. Personally, I didn’t notice a dramatic colour transformation with either formula. On me, the shade looked fairly consistent throughout wear, so I wouldn’t buy it specifically for that claim.
Who Would Like This Product?
If you’re already a fan of Dior Beauty, I think you’ll really enjoy this blush. I’ve consistently liked the brand’s makeup launches, and this is another product that feels thoughtfully formulated.
I also think it’s a great option for anyone with textured skin. The powder is incredibly finely milled, so it blends seamlessly and gives the cheeks a smooth, soft-focus finish without emphasizing texture.
Makeup artists would likely appreciate it too. The formula is easy to work with, blends beautifully, and photographs. Whether you’re going for an everyday glow or building it up for something more glam, it sits nicely on the skin.
Is It Worth The Money?
I’ll admit I’m a little biased because I genuinely enjoy Dior Beauty’s makeup releases, and this blush is no exception. I think the updated formula is a noticeable improvement over the original, with better colour payoff, a smoother texture, and a beautiful finish on the skin.
That said, it is a luxury blush, and part of what you’re paying for is the Dior name. If you’re someone who loves makeup, enjoys high-end beauty, and has the budget to splurge, I think it’s a lovely addition to your collection.
If you’re simply looking for a great blush, though, there are plenty of excellent formulas at lower price points that deliver similar results. This isn’t a must-have for everyone, but if you appreciate luxury makeup and the Dior experience, I do think you’ll like it.
